5. Website analytics and tracking technologies
Our public website currently uses the following technologies:
Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager is used to manage website scripts and analytics tags. Tag Manager itself acts as a container through which other technologies may be loaded.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics helps us understand website traffic and usage. Information sent to Google may include:
- IP and device information;
- browser and operating-system information;
- approximate geographic information;
- pages viewed;
- referring pages;
- dates and times of visits; and
- interactions such as website searches.
Website search terms may form part of the page address and may be included in analytics information. You should not enter names, contact details, financial information, health information or other confidential information into the website search function.
We are taking steps to minimise the collection of search terms and other information that could identify an individual.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms from spam, abuse and automated activity. reCAPTCHA may collect device, browser, network and interaction information and send it to Google for security analysis.
Google’s handling of this information is governed by Google’s own privacy terms.
Member-portal diagnostics
The member login portal uses Microsoft Azure Application Insights for security, performance monitoring and technical diagnostics. This may involve the collection of IP address, device, browser, session, error and performance information.
Application Insights is not intended to collect passwords or the contents of login fields. Users should nevertheless only enter account credentials into the designated login fields.
Technologies not currently detected
At the date of this policy, our audit did not detect Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar or a comparable session-replay service on the public website.
If we introduce a new advertising, analytics or session-recording technology, we will update this policy and our cookie disclosures.
6. Cookies and consent
Cookies are small data files stored by a browser or device. We may use:
- essential cookies needed for security and website operation;
- authentication and session cookies;
- preference cookies;
- analytics cookies; and
- security technologies such as reCAPTCHA.
Analytics and third-party technologies may transfer information to service providers outside Australia.
You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect website or member-portal functionality.
Where our website provides a cookie-preference tool, you can use it to accept, reject or change your preferences for non-essential technologies. Essential security and authentication technologies cannot always be disabled through that tool.
Further details are available in our Cookie Policy.

Service and account-related messages may still be sent when necessary to provide services to you.

We do not sell personal information.
We take reasonable steps to require service providers to handle personal information consistently with their functions, contractual obligations and applicable privacy laws.
9. Overseas processing
Some technology and service providers, including Google and Microsoft, may process or store information outside Australia.
The countries involved may vary according to the provider’s infrastructure and subcontractors. Where required, we take reasonable steps to assess and manage overseas-disclosure risks.
The privacy protections applying overseas may differ from those under Australian law.
10. Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected, including service delivery, security, dispute resolution, insurance, accounting and legal obligations. Information is then deleted, destroyed or de-identified where appropriate.
If an eligible data breach occurs, we will respond in accordance with applicable notification requirements.
11. Access and correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. In limited circumstances permitted by law, access may be refused. If this occurs, we will generally explain the reason.
Requests can be sent to privacy@principalscommunity.com.au.
12. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us using the details below and explain your concern.
